We
had
a
great
turn
out,
25
teams
showed
up
consisting
of
airboats,
fan
boats
and
troller
boats,they
came
from
all
over
Texas
and
Oklahoma
and
some
came
from
as
far
away
as
South
Texas.
The
event
kicked
off
Saturday
evening
with
a
barbeque
meal,
followed
by a
meeting
where
the
TBA
informed
contestants
on
the
rules
and
regulations
and
asked
everyone
to
be
courteous
to
the
home
owners
at
PK
Lake.
Beginning
at 8
p.m.
Saturday,
bowfishing
teams
and
their
crafts
left
in
1-minute
intervals,
starting
with
those
who
registered
first.
After
fishing
for
12
hours
they
started
coming
back
Sunday
morning
for
weigh
in
and
had
a
hot
breakfast
also
supplied
by
PK
Lodge
Contestants
brought
in
2,100
carp,
gar
and
buffalo
fish
Sunday
morning.
They
vied
for
prizes
for
the
most
fish
and
the
heaviest
10
fish.
Oklahomans
took
the
top
Texas
trophies.
Team
TNT
Archery
(A)
from
Tahlequah,
Okla.,
were
the
winners
of
the
most
fish,
bringing
in
216
fish,
according
to
Slater.
The
team
to
bring
in
the
heaviest
10
fish,
weighing
in
at
149.15
pounds,
was
Team
TNT
Archery
(B),
from
Portor,
Okla.
The
tournament
championship,
determined
by
how
well
bowfishers
did
in
each
division,
went
to
Team
TNT
Archery
(A)
members
Montie
Reid,
Dean
Anson
and
Blake
Pearson.
We
also
had
a
sponsor,
Head
To
Tail
Taxidermy
in
Cibola,
Texas,
donate
a
free
mounting
of
the
biggest
gar.
“Tommy
Fuller
[of
Tyler,
Texas]
won
this
division
with
30-pound
needle-nose
gar.”
“All
teams
left
with
some
kind
of
prize,
from
first
place
to
last
place,”
she
added.
“No
one
left
empty
handed,
which
appeased
all
the
participants.”
We
look
forward
to
having
another
great
bowfishing
tournament
on
our
lake
next
year,
as
we
work
to
make
it
bigger
and
better
each
year
